Day 2 - Smash and Go!

It's midnight.  Our ears are ringing and our bellies full of chinese food.  We have finished our second day in the studio and all the music for 5 songs.  This time around we are doing things a bit differently.  We are recording everything live off the floor.  Which for those of you who don't know means we do everything at once. Ratbeard counts it off, Dallas does a Dr. Steve Brule impression then Steele and I try to stop laughing in time to play the first chord correctly.  It's all or nothing and that is making the playing harder than a punch in the face.

Another big difference is the gear we have managed to get our hands on.  I've pulled a bunch of 1950's Gibsons out of the basement of the studio and Dallas has done most of his tracks so far on a really old Fender Bassman Combo Amp.  This may sound like technical nonsense to some of you. But, what I'm trying to say is that these are the kind of guitar tones that take you out to a nice restaurant, insist on picking up the bill, take you to Niagara Falls to see fireworks and kiss you softly when they drop you off just after curfew.

good night,
wade.

p.s. if you haven't seen any clips of Dr. Steve Brule on youtube.com do yourself a favor.

  1. Gaaaaaaaaah.
I'm so much more excited now.
I wonder why you guys are recording live off the floor, instead of in layers.
Regardless, I'm sure it's going to sound great <3
